For Artist Kirti Gaba, art is everything, something that calms her mind, makes her happy, gives her a new life, gives her the courage to move forward and fills her with positive energy. She believes that she has a different world in art which gives a new meaning to life and has helped her achieved great accomplishments. Kirti considers herself a self-taught artist, although she says she was inspired by her cousin and teacher.
“My cousin had started learning art and slowly I noticed her work improving a lot. One day, I went to the classes my cousin went to and saw a girl of my age drawing pictures and felt inspired. I started learning the art from the same teacher and initially made a female portrait. At that time, I had no knowledge of anything like estimates, proportions, or lines. Then I worked on the first facial features, started drawing, focused on pencil shading. One day I heard my mentor explaining to other students about the procedure of sketching which I already knew, and that's when I realized I was infact Autodidactic. From that day the real journey of pencil shading started and improved on my own working on 3D portraits, object drawing, still life and landscapes.

Making Discoveries
While asking about the idea behind Kirti’s art, she replied ‘’I want to extend my business to a great level where people understand the value of handmade paintings, draw inspiration from it and learn something new from my work.’’
Taking Challenges
Speaking about challenges, Kirti says, “I have faced different kinds of challenges being an artist. While starting, I had difficulty perfecting the techniques such as shading, tones as well as in estimates. An artist’s journey is continuously learning and improving. Last year, I face some challenges in live art which play an important role in my life. I learn something new each day and strive to improve myself. I wish to become like my inspiration, shared Kirti about the challenges faced by her during art journey."

Know your passion
Many painters follow one particular art form, but for Kirti, Art is “her Kirti’’ which means desire and passion. In Kirti’s words, “Art is not just a word made up of three letters. It also makes my life complete. Even, the word “Earth” is incomplete without the letters that spell ‘Art’. Art can be seen everywhere, at any turn, in the street, on the highway, college, school, temple, mosque, gurudwara, church, all around in nature and wilderness. I am inspired by various things around me. I work on different styles of art, such as, murals, canvas, resin art on keychains, alcohol ink art, stone art, bottle art and many more mediums and techniques. Art makes my life happy and fills me with positive energy. There are times of struggle to get across the artwork and finding the target audience, but I will not give up. With the cooperation of all of you, I will make a unique identity in the field of art and become a brand.’’ shared Kirti.
Kirti likes and respects every art form although murals, canvas and decorative art is her dearest. She thinks her best piece comes from pushing herself and just letting go.” This desire to keep exploring and growing is a driving force behind the artist’s evolution. “When you have expectations and are comfortable with what you’re doing, the result can be beautiful, but it doesn’t always move your work to the next level,” she says. The secret to success for Kirti is to keep stretching and growing—to try new things that challenge and maybe even scare her a little.
