Optimizing your shop to enable marketing

This guide provides you with tips to optimize your shop to enable marketing.

General Tips:

Completeness: Make sure every section of your user profile and store profile is filled. Incomplete information or pictures do not give a professional look to your store and shows a lack of interest in turn hurting your brand.

Spell Checks: Ensure All text whether Titles, Descriptions, Tags or Names are not misspelt. Take an extra 5 minutes to go over all the details on your store before you publish. Customers need to build a level of trust with your brand and store. Also, Titles, descriptions and tags are used for search engine optimization and incorrect spellings will prevent your shop from coming up in search results.

Be transparent : Ensure you are providing accurate information at all times for your inventory, policies and products, your shop location and profile.

Up to date: Ensure your store is up to date. Do not show banners for Diwali during Christmas. You always need to stay current and update your store offers or take them down as soon as they expire. Also, keep your inventory up to date, restock as soon as your products are close to becoming out of stock.

Images: Ensure you use consistent images that reflects your brand. Whether its your banner or logo or the thumbnails of your products. Shop name:  If you already own a business and have a store name continue to use the same name. If you are starting a new business make sure you think of a name and stick to it as its not advisable to change the Shop name.
