This guide provides you with tips to design and create your own logo for your store.

A logo may seem unnecessary to most sellers as they may be hobbyists or just starting out or they prefer to concentrate on creating their products as that’s what the customer may look for. But that’s not the case. Your store’s logo is an important aspect of Branding. A logo is consistently visible on all your properties such as stationery, packaging, receipts and also on Dufa’s store page.  The impact that a well-designed logo has on your online store cannot be overstated. Whether you’re designing one yourself or paying a professional, it’s a good idea to be familiar with some basic aspects of online store logo design.

Why you need a logo:

Here are some reasons you need a logo:

  • Your logo represents you: Logos represent what the company stands for and defines the vibe and culture of your store or company
  • Logos are unforgettable: Logos are used on stationery, packaging and it’s the repetition use that builds the familiarity on your brand and makes your brand unforgettable.
  • Logos build brand awareness: Logos build brand awareness and get the attention of customers in just a glance. After a certain point, customers identify you with the logo
  • Logos show professionalism: A well-designed, classy logo goes a long way to ensure to shoppers that your business is credible and professional.
  • Logos establishes accountability: Your logo is similar to your signature, it establishes ownership and lets your customers know you are accountable.

Designing your banner:

Versatile Logos: Choose a logo that looks good in any size because you may need to play around the sizes based on where you are using it. Hence complicated designs and fonts must be avoided as they may not look good in case you reduce the size.

Choosing colors: Color choice plays a large role in communicating and reinforcing your identity as a company. As a brand, decide on a company voice. Different colors have different associations, and it’s important to consider what emotions you want to evoke in your customers. Below is a list of colors and the kinds of emotions they typically evoke in viewers, however, keep in mind your branding as you choose the color for your logo. Also, do ensure your logo looks good even in black and white because it’s printed on all your stationery and if its printed in black and white, it should not look odd or incomplete.

White

Choosing the right font and size: Not all logos have something written, but if you do have to include your name or some text in the logo, ensure you choose an easy to read font and the right size. Do not use more than 1 font type.

Keep your branding in mind: Make sure your logo reflects your overall branding.

Using Images and Design:  Your logo should be unique, hence avoid using stock photos or images purchased from some place else. It needs to be original. Also, while designing it, make sure its not a complicated or busy design with too many elements. Simple and clean is what you need to focus on. Create a concept that is unique to your business.

Size of Logo:

On Dufa, you need to upload logos with a resolution of 200 x 200 pixels and the size of the file should not be more than 250 -300 KB. You need to upload this from the Seller App. Dufa adapts the file to the laptop & tablet resolutions.
