Guide to what you can sell on Dufa

This is a guide to help you understand what you can sell and what you are not permitted to sell on Dufa.

Products you can sell on Dufa

Everything listed for sale on Dufa must be either handcrafted, artistic or self-designed. These products shall comprise of paintings (all Indian traditional artwork), photographs, sculptures (of various materials), handmade jewelry, accessories, clothing, footwear, home and living artefacts and artisan homemade food and beverages.

What is considered handmade?

Anything that is made by hand but could have been made using some non-traditional tools for certain parts.

What is considered handcrafted?

Anything that is only made by hand using traditional techniques

What encompasses Handcrafted / Handmade products on Dufa:

Handmade on Dufa encompasses all products made by the Seller's own hands or by using handheld tools. The products that are hand-assembled, handcrafted and hand-altered are also acceptable on Dufa and considered as handmade in the broader sense as long as the Seller has added his or her own creativity and twist to the product. Handmade includes products that are designed by sellers even though they may be physically created by the seller's team or outsourced. Sellers can be entrepreneurs as well who have a team of artists creating / designing these handmade products. Reselling is strictly prohibited on Dufa.

Self-designed products:

You can sell apparel and accessories that are designed by you. We understand you could have bought material from local weavers or another vendor but so long as the design and execution is yours, you can sell such items on Dufa.

Photographs, Digital prints and Paintings:

Ensure you are using your own photographs/ prints and not stock photos, artistic renderings, or photos used by other Sellers or sites. Also, paintings must be originals and not something that is created out of other’s work. You can sell digital creations as well on Dufa, so long as they are created/clicked by you. You can choose to print these creations on products and sell them or send the online format as well.

Food & Beverages:

You can sell artisan food and beverages on Dufa such as bakery goods, mixes, and snacks. You cannot resell packaged food though. All food and beverages must be created by you or your team.

Products prohibited to sell on Dufa

Even if the products otherwise meet our marketplace criteria, prohibited items, services, and items that violate our policies are not allowed to be sold on Dufa.

Here is the list of Prohibited Items:

  • Animal products and human remains
  • Alcohol
  • Dangerous items, hazardous materials, recalled items and weapons
  • Items that promote, support, or glorify hatred
  • Illegal items, items promoting illegal activity and highly regulated items as per Indian Laws and
  • Items that promote, support, or glorify violence or are inappropriate and considered vulgar
