Amrita Aggarwal
Amrita Aggarwal is essentially a home-maker & a teacher based in MMR and has many passions which include painting & keeping alive in India, the dying art of embroidery. As she says, "I did a formal course in painting in my formative years from Lalit Kala Academy - Lucknow and learnt embroidery from my grandmother and aunts, in my teens. Over the years, unfortunately, I lost touch with both and got caught up in life. The desire to do up my own home re-kindled my love for paintings and also introduced me to Indian folk-art forms such as Gond, Warli and Madhubani, which is what I am giving life to these days. I am also reclaiming my passion of embroidery and hope that I can contribute somewhat, to the revival of this rare art form. Pursuing both art forms has also encouraged me to develop my own unique style of fusion - painting with embroidery! I now create collectibles, each work such, that I want it in my own home".
